Exactly.

It's nothing short of mind-boggling...

When a retired USMC Sgt/Maj tells you you're right and he should have done the same but didn't make the jump because at the end of his first enlistment he already had a family to consider and was moving up, that's a man whose opinion I am going to take very seriously. Captain Tone Deaf was just a candle on the cake.
All great points. Also, I saw many former Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen joining Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.

Instead of interservice back & forth, let's talk about new optics and the lack of using iron sights on the KD course.

Agree, wouldn't surprise me once red dots on handguns catch on. Use of irons will fall by wayside like it did with rifles in the military.

I think the only reason the military (big mil) isn't all over red dot pistols is because it's such a limited use weapon. If pistols were a more "front line" weapon for the military, I think we'd hear more about red dot pistols. I believe there are quite a few law enforcement agencies that are issuing or approving pistol optics.

Handguns for most of the Army/Marines = “Jewelry for Officers”.

Shit, *handguns* in the Mil are going by the wayside - B&T APC-9 was approved for issue, like the old M3A1 was.
