Federal Agent Nuclear Materials Courier

ALLCON,

The first hiring period for 2007 has opened, it will be open from 9 to 20 APR 07.

https://fmt.kcp.com/OSTfederalagent/ This website provides information on the position, requirements, hiring process, retirement, etc.

To apply - go to USAjobs.gov, do either a keword search for "courier" or a series search for "0084"

I hope that any interested and qualified SOCnet members will at least check it out and consider applying.

Don't be put off by the GS-8 starting grade, it promotes to GS-10 over two years, and is a HEAVY OVERTIME POSITION. You will be compensated for your work.

Thanks! :D

If you know someone that works there, or keeps that page updated, you may to let them know that the top banner has misspelled Energy (it reads US Government, US Department of Engery).

Well, I work there - but I'm also deployed with the Guard right now. Maybe I can call back and have someone in HR tweak it - you gotta admit though, that is classic!:D :D :D

So I guess attention to detail is NOT a requirement?

CB,
My only source of comfort is that the banner wasn't put together by an Agent :D

But it does make me wonder who CQ'd the webpage before it was posted

If EODSGT can't help send me a PM.

It seems we work for the same department.

No I'm not an agent.

Reminds me of a meeting called by the Project Manager for a project I worked on in Israel.

It seems Quality Control was detecting concrete mixtures that didn't meet specifications. One non-engineer at the meeting said: "So, we have a Quality Control problem?"

The Project Manager gave him a withering look and said: "No, Quality Control is catching the defects. We don't have a Quality Control problem .... WE HAVE A QUALITY PROBLEM!"

If you were 6c covered in the past, then you can go past 37 by as many days/years as you have prior covered time.

It's a retirement issue. LE types must retire at age 57 and Federal retirement requires 20 years' service. Hence, 37 YOA max entry age.

I just found out the other day they had closed the window not to long ago. But they sent me an email saying that they intend to have openings in the Feb-April time frame if you are trying to get in. Did you contact the recruiter?

I am in the hiring process. Got the drug test coming up and then after they get the pass results the POC said I will sign a Conditional Offer Letter. The course is scheduled for June.

The recruiter did tell me that they will be having another opening in April. I dont know if it will be VRA though, it will probably be open to all civilians not just veterans.
