Question Richard (Dick) Artis

Richard (Dick) Bruce Artis DOB 09/51
Has claimed to family members he was in a black unit in Vietnam. Was supposed to be involved in eliminating specific targets (assassinations). Supposed to have reclassed (to 96B I think) later. Also served at Ft. Hood, somewhere in Germany, and Ft. Lewis. I know for certain he served at Hood, Germany and Lewis (don't know for sure in what capacity). Any info you can provide would be appreciated. For the record, he does not sit around talking about his Vietnam experiences.

I guess the reply is OMG. Having just gotten my first computer, I decided to see about my self. And I see this. I suspect who asked/posted it, but I am not going to reach for ghosts of my past. Yes - I was in vietnam from Sep 69 - 70, assigned to a unit created in nam. It was years later I learned that we/I were part of a "mission" called the Phoenix Program. At the time, I was just an 18 year old kid following "orders". Raised on John Wayne Movies I only knew to do what was right, at least at that time. Now that I am getting old, those ghosts haunt me. Do I say that I am sorry ... NO!

My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.

So, you're not the same "shamuspi" who lives in the Pudget Sound area and is a several year member of all those weapon and survivalist websites? The one with the line: "A Highly Trained, Professional Idiot" signature line.
