USS Indianapolis Survivor

Edgar Harrell was a Corporal onboard the USS Indianapolis when it went down in the Philippine Sea after delivering 'Little Boy' to Tinian. Yesterday, he was promoted to Sergeant at age 93. Congratulations Sgt Harrell, that's a lot of back pay.

I’ve mentioned this before- a former sailor lived in the Del City, OK. area; Tinker AFB is there too. I don’t remember his name- he was at Pearl Harbor, USS CALIFORNIA, Dec 7th and on the Indianapolis. Verified
He died about 5 years. I remember him in the local Tinker Takeoff paper being recognized.

Hooyah SGT Harrell! There's no better guy than GEN Paul Kennedy to pin it on, either.
