Viking Tactics.

http://www.vikingtactics.com/instruction.html

There's an MTT from there teaching at Alameda County Sheriff's Office in August. Anyone out there attended any of their classes (Shoothouse Instructor,Entry team leader, and Tactics) and how good are their classes?

FWIW, I consider them and CSAT the 2 top training providers.

Additionally the guy who runs the place is known for his yrs of experience at the tip of the spear.

...Kyle Lamb.

Also author of "Green Eyes & Black Rifles." A pretty good reference manual for anyone using the M-4.

Ditto SB's comments. I'd say it will be time well spent.

Cheers,

I can say that training with Viking Tactics is like training with 5 or 6 different Top IPSC/USPSA Grand Masters. You have to remember that Kyle has trained with the BEST and then applied what works in combat. You WILL get your money's worth training with Kyle.

I would rate Viking Tactics, TigerSwan (Brian Searcy), and Larry Vickers as the top trainers out there. I have not trained with CSAT, but since SB gave his approval, then I'd say they are good to go too. If you haven't figured it out, these guys are all former Delta Force Instructors. In the military world it's called an indicator. In the civilian world it's called a clue.

I've never trained there or met Mr. Lamb, but I got some awesome commercial training from a former tier 1 guy at Olive. This dude was a guru, and he referred to Kyle Lamb as someone he took very seriously.

And the book is great, it's basically a shooter's guide to using an AR type rifle in the real world. A great reference.

Well worth it. I took the shoothouse instructor class and the pistol 1.5. Looks like they come to California 3 x a year. So I'll be taking some more classes in December.

I haven't taken any shooting or tactical courses from Viking, but I did attend a leadership class last year, given by Kyle. He's a very likable and impressive guy, really down to earth and modest. It was definitely the best class on leadership I ever had, and I use some of the things he taught me nearly every day.

After spending a day with him, I can't imagine any class he has associated himself with, being anything but first class.

Big thumbs up for CSAT.

A guy from our team just went to Jim Smith Spartan Tactical rifle course. Very good stuff. Much along the same lines of Paul's CSAT methodology and ideology.
