SOTA in SF Groups

I am doing a thesis / research paper on SOTA in SF. Would like to know thoughts, experiences, and such as whether or not it is worth having SOTA at battalion level, what are the missions that they are doing, and what are the future missions as we start adapting to the IO/IW paradigm. Are there new missions that the SOTA can undertake that would provide support in an Information Operations / Information Warfare context? How are the SOTA going to have to change their training? Should the SOTA become an 18? MOS? Should the SOTA be taken out of group completely? I am very interested in any and all opinions and if you have any additional sources of information, ETC that would aid in this research please let me know. THANKS
