I joined the VFW after I returned from deployment and went to one meeting. I have not been back since. NOT impressed with the group of folks that were there. Heard several stories that should have had them put in for an MOH.... I would rather hang out here with my SOF Brothers.

When I got back from Vietnam and joined the American Legion in 1968 they treated all of us pretty well; and stated they thought it sucked they way the civilians treated us.
Of course about 10 of us that grew up together joined the same post.

Never joined VFW but get mailers all the time to join :)

In GOD we trust, all others we monitor.

Last response I got from the adjutant at National VFW (about a month ago) when I asked about their investigation of the matter was a short something to the effect of - They [VFW VA State] have reviewed it and I'm satisfied with their response.

I wonder what that means...

Cant say I experienced any such thing with VA. But Billy did have a lot of influence all around.

Unfortunately, 9478 merged with 1177 last year before the folks in Leesburg were made aware of the problem. So, the CDR there is now this Travis Potts guy. Im guessing your friends probably include Jim Mc...? You're right, a good bunch at that post.
