Retired Army.

Started out as an engineer, re-upped into MI. Nothing special. Did the Desert Storm route, got hurt got out.

Went to work for the state, city, and finally county in EMS/public safety.

Using voc-rehab, became a mechanic.

Multi-generational service member, and now my kid is following the tradition.

Thanks for having me.

Another FNG

Hi all,

Just a quick into. I've been retired for about 14 years, former SOF support, 11 years with the Ranger Reg and 6 years 1st SFG (A). The rest was conventional time with 25th ID. Been working overseas since 2006. Heading home soon to find something useful to do back there.

Havn't Been There Havn't Done That

I would like to thank all of the administrators for the authorization to register.

Have been working as a multimedia/graphics designer for DoD for most of my career. Most notably, I am the designer that produced the media for Army Culture Center (TRADOC Culture Center) for 9+ years.

Need to find info and resources for Afghanistan and it would be great if more experienced personal can help me not make stupid mistakes while I'm down range. If all goes well at CRC, I'm headed to I Bagram or be at the U.S. Embassy in April.

Howdy do all, new buck here.

Found this place searching up tips on RASP and ended up enjoying the crude/blunt sense of respect conveyed through some of y'all's rhetoric around here. Hoping to stay a long term member with more to give as I grow. Pleasure to make your acquaintances.

Hey all, former Marine (95-01). Got out and trained and worked privately for a few years before going into a totally different industry for a long while. Currently working within the training/support industry with some great folks and heading back into PSC. Was referred here for info and as a potential networking resource. Looking forward to doing a lot more searching and reading than posting.

Thanks to the admins/page owners for posting a resource like this and making it available to me.

I am looking for Marines who served in units and time periods that are familiar to me and even better those who currently live nearby North Florida. In particular, my first unit in the FMF was my closest family of friends from Weapons Platoon, Lima Company, 3rd Battalion 9th Marines, FMF Camp Schwab, Okinawa, "The Walking Dead".

Did you ever drink a cold San Miguel beer while listening to "Hotel California" being sung by a band of 5'4" Philipinos on the bar's stage who can't speak English but can lip-sync the song perfectly while Subic Bay honey's sit on your lap and say things like, "I love sailors on payday, but I love Marines every day!"?

If this rings a bell then we have something to talk about. Clark Air Force Base, President Marcos' Martial Law while bar hopping after midnight, Shit River, Monkey meat cooking on a Hibachi Grill on the sidewalk in Subic Bay, Bus trips to Manila, a helicopter crash on October 21st, 1977 in Mindoro Philipines part of operation Fortress Lightning (everyone who died on that CH-53 was my blood brother from Wpns Plt, Lima 3/9), Honoko (Gate Town to Camp Schwab), Kadina AFB (best chow on Okinawa), NTA (Northern Training Area Night time compass terrain movements), Floats to the PI and Camp Fuji Japan, Fly-away to South Korea with ROK Marines. At 19 years old, this shit was very real for me. Were you there? Do you miss your brothers like I do? Reach out to me brothers.

Maybe worded different on a 1980 DD-214. RE Code 1: May reenlist in without issue. I don't see any issues with his intro other than providing way too much info. SB was an 8541 and served at 6th MarRgt during this time, he may know him. Small community.
