I was able to get out and sit on a few of these bikes but still have a few more to try out.

Victory: Vegas, Gunner, Hammer - These bikes were the coolest looking of the bunch I sat on yesterday, especially the Hammer. Unfortunately my 29" inseam made it so I would be using my tip toe to hit the rear brake and shift up and down.

Star:
- vstar custom 900, tank felt very wide and made reaching the rear brake and shift lever similar to the Victory models.

- Bolt: This bike felt great all around, easily flat foot and reach the shift lever and rear brake. The "R-Spec" has an adjustable rear shock and felt comfortable all around compared to everything else I sat on.

HD:
- Sportster, Low Rider to give a dyna model a shot as recommended. Haven't had a chance to get to the Harley shop yet

Triumph:
- haven't made it to the shop that sells these yet.

EightyDeuce,
I know how time consuming test riding and sitting on bikes can be. But, the end game will be you on a bike that feels comfortable and that equates to years of enjoyment... Good luck finding your ride.

I know you're looking for a cruiser, but have you considered a Super Moto? Something in between sport bike and cruiser?

I've ridden crotch rockets my whole life. I've been looking for my next bike - if I was thinking a harley I would look at their XR1200

Its got more of a flat track type look to it.

That being said if I could have anything right now...

if you have any kind of impulse control issues do not buy a hypermotard

I took one for a test ride and within 2 miles..2 wheelies...jumping curbs and using speedbumps as ramps...

I took it back in like 10 minutes and said "I'm gonna goto jail on that"

I rode an Aprilia Shiver last year that I really liked but they are about as rare as can be around my parts. I also heard that the maintenance is more costly and some things need to be done by a dealer. Don't know if that's true or not but it kept me away.

I have impulse control which is why I'm trying to stay out of the triple digits on a sportbike.

I was watching some YouTube videos last night and one thing led to another and I found myself watching Yamaha FZ-07 videos. I'm really digging that bike, a lot. I saw it at the dealership I checked all the Victory's out at but stayed away because it was sitting next to new R6's, R1's, and R1 M's. I'm going back today.

forward to 1:15 for the good stuff, amazing sound.

Just scored a sweet Titanium Remus Exhaust for my VFR on Ebay last week. $700+ retail. $249 shipped! Install was a breeze. Boy does it sound good. Nice low baritone thump.

Wish I still had her...

I have had 3 bikes:

Vstar 650-great first cruiser, but the small engine limits your passing ability

Kawasaki Nomad 1600, the kawa version of a Road King. LOVED it. Did an Iron Butt run on that bike (Iron Butt is 100 miles in 24 hours)

HD Electra Glide FLHTCI- got the fairing, got the trunk and the hard bags, stereo. Mine only has the 88ci engine, which I find a little lacking. Plus, HD ought to stand for "Hundred Dollars" because damned near anything you need to buy for it will cost you at least a C Note.

Of the 3? the Kawasaki Nomad had BY FAR the best ride. Japanese bikes are bullit proof, almost never break down, and parts/upgrades are a LOT cheaper than anything made for a Harley

If I'd ever get another bike (rate that as pretty damn unlikely) it would either be a small dirt bike, or a big-ass GoldWing dresser.
