Rats!!! Thanks for taking time to tell us... I would have likely not thought to check on it until September, since the organizers kept telling that the festival is still going to be on.

Well, this could give us more time to check out Santa Fe, Taos, and Abiquiu...

That is really too bad that balloon festival is cancelled. I am no balloonist, but for many years in the high country driving through the fraser valley, or other valleys in the early morning high country , local enthusiasts are in their extremely colorful balloons. This is quite a picturesque thing that does not take anything away from the beauty of the landscape!

Sneads Ferry, NC Shrimp Festival. It's a lesser known national celebration.

Was canceled this year (August) but if you find yourself in this area of Eastern NC I can show you where to get seafood right off the boats and there is almost never even a line to get it.
