There appears to be some relationship to a company called Durham Capital and its owner Tim Durham, a convicted Ponzi scheme creator. Bloomberg Businessweek called Tim Durham the Madoff of the Midwest.

I researched her cause and it seems like the parent charity "Special Spaces" appears to be a legitimate 501c3. However, if you read Claudia Biondi's statement "all profits from the sales of these items will go to Special Spaces," which is very different from saying that "all funds raised" will go to Special Spaces.

Basically she can run a scam to put the cost of goods and even her salary equal to whatever they raise- and eliminate any profits so nothing goes to the charity. If he's dirty she could be too.

Not to divert the theme of this thread, but that's not correct. In an H and J Series TO&E M113 equipped Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the 1980's, Infantry Officer positions were coded for 11A (the Infantry branched staff officers), and 11C, the Infantry Company Commanders and platoon leaders. In reality at that time there was no difference in their training / schooling or background. I believe that some time before that the Infantry Officer basic course had run separate tracks for Light and Mech officers. That didn't last long. My records reflect that I was an 11A5G as the Battalion LNO, and an 11C5G as a Platoon Leader and Company XO, all in the same Battalion. That was true in my Mech Battalion in Germany as well as my Mech Battalion at Fort Knox. OER's just said "11". Then I was picked up as an 18 and lost track of when the two were combined back to 11A.
