Man I miss that guy so much - he held so many of us to a higher standard if we opened up our mouth.

Almost 30K posts and always relevant, always news worthy, always IDGAF! .

RIP

This is unfathomable...

Haven't been on here for a while, been taking care of other issues also.

There are no words that can truly express my remorse for this loss, not just for SOCNET but for everyone whom he touched with his wit, wisdom, wrath, and above all else just being SOTB.

My most sincere and profound condolences to all.

RIP Andy

SOCNET shall never be the same...

Scotty 19 July 2016 17:50

I was in an airport when I read the post. I struck me how a man I never met passing affected me. I would scroll through treads when I became bored with the topic and would always stop when SOTB replied. I glad his picture posted it was nice to put a face to his name.

RIP

KUTF 2 August 2016 01:20

RIP... I always thought highly of his postings and insight in various discussions - I didn't always agree, but his postings were always interesting and well worth reading.

Salt Life 2 August 2016 10:53

Always learned something from his post

Expatmedic 2 August 2016 19:32

His logic and reasoning were near flawless.

chokeu2 4 August 2016 23:45

Fuck...
Like many, life has kept me away. But to come back and see this... I have no words.

I had the good fortune to get to know him, and develop as much of a friendship as one can via phone and email. He took an more of an interest where he had no obligation.

He was a special soul, and even now, one that is, and always will be, very unique.

RIP Andy.
You are missed.

Goodbye, Andy. I hope you were wrong about Last Things. I would like to think of you residing in love unimaginable.

Expatmedic 24 August 2016 01:44

Diety. I miss him here on SOCNET. I had a few PM's over the years with him. He was cool as fuck as a Mod. back in the day. One time I asked him to keep something between us regarding child abuse. He said he would. For fucking sure I believed him. Goddamn if he did not challenge you to search within for the absolute truth. I am lesser for not knowing him.:(

J.P.26 29 August 2016 18:21

Wish you were here, SOTB. You'd have some insightful comments to put things in the right perspective.

The Corporate Guy 8 November 2016 07:29

WWSOTBS? = What would SOTB say?

KidA 9 November 2016 21:49

I still miss my friend.

Armitage12 9 November 2016 21:54

I wish SOTB could have seen this.

jtk317 10 November 2016 09:58

I've been absent from the forum for a little over a year and this is a shock to hear. My condolences to his family and all of you that knew him as a friend. Judging by what all of you who knew him have said, he left this world a better place for his having been in it. As a fellow atheist (or at best agnostic) I would think he would've been happy about that. Rest in Peace, Mr. Potts.

IMHO... he has but I'm one of those flying spaghetti monster there's something after believers. ;) Wish he was still here. I would love to read his thoughts on the Election AAR.

HBD Marine, RIP and fuck cancer!
