In memory of Dan Kohlstrom

I spoke with Dark Helmet and got his approval prior to posting this. If Dan was a member of SOCNET, mods, please move this to the SOCNET members who gave all room.

Dan Kohlstrom, known as Javahed on GetOfftheX, Lightfighter, and other forums passed away in his sleep on 10 SEP 2009. He is survived by his wife of 8 months, two children, and many, many friends. I never knew Dan personally, nor did I have the opportunity to train with him in person. However, through his many informative posts on various forums, Dan shared a weath of knowledge with all of us. He was the person who got me interested in tactical medicine. He was one hell of an 18D; whether you were a lay person or an ER doc, Dan always had thought-provoking discussions on everything from gear use to proper treatment procedures.

A more detailed obituary can be foundhere

Thank you, Dan, for everything you taught all of us and for your service to your country. You will not soon be forgotten by any who knew you. Rest in peace.

I just found out about Dan's passing yesterday. It was a shock. I worked with him in Africa and he was truly a great guy. Unfortunately, we never crossed paths more recently in Afghanistan. It's my loss. He'll be missed.

RIP Dan
I had the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks with Dan during a train up for the BW Medic/Provider gig back a couple of years ago. Since BW pulled the old bait and switch I never had a chance to work with Dan as he was sent on the Africa gig and I chose walk away altogether. From the little time I spent around him, he was a great guy! RIP Brother!

If anyone has any details please PM me!
