AIRMAN DIES DURING TRAINING

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. (AFSOC NFNS) -- A noncommissioned officer assigned to the 16th Special Operations Squadron, 16th Special Operations Wing, here, was pronounced dead at Bay Medical Center near Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., at about 1 p.m. April 1, after collapsing while participating in aerospace physiology training.
Technical Sgt. David Gressett, an AC-130H gunner, had previously received Air Force aerospace physiology training in 1994, and again in 1996 and 1999 for refresher courses.
The 325th Medical Group’s aerospace physiology flight at Tyndall trains more than 1,800 students annually.
A board of officers will convene to investigate the incident.
