RIP - John Hamen

This happened a bit ago, his family was notified Nov 6th. Yemeni sources have said a bit more, to include the name of the other contractor. This from the NYDaily news.

"An American contractor died in the custody of Shiite rebel militants after landing in Yemen’s war-ridden capital on accusations of espionage, his friends and family have revealed.

Army veteran John Hamen, a husband and father of seven children from Chesapeake, Va., was held in Sanaa for two weeks after arriving Oct. 20 on a United Nations aircraft to work on U.N. facilities.

“John was falsely accused of being a CIA agent or spy,” wrote Michael Cornish, Hamen’s friend who is raising money through GoFundMe to support the family’s children."

Didnt know Mr Hamen, ran across the story by accident. A Linkedin profile has Mr Hamen's last job as Special Operations Forces, joint training team communications observer. If you knew him, my condolences. If you're contracting, heads up.
