Ranger Pete Neves Memorial (creator of ArmyRanger.com)

As many of you may know Ranger Pete Neves, founder of the board www.armyranger.com passed away last year. In honor of his life, service to our Country and one of the pioneers that created a forum for fellow Rangers to get together, there will be a memorial held to celebrate his life. I have posted this on AR.COM but thought that possibly some of the Regnars on this board might be interested in attending as well. Hopefully many of you will be able to attend.

THE OFFICIAL DATE IS: Saturday, June 27th in Downieville, "California" at the Riverside Inn. Marie (Pete's wife) had indicated that she and their daughter Leslie will be there on Friday night and if anyone needed a place to stay prior to driving up to Downieville they were welcome (to stay at their condo in Reno)

FOOD: His wife has hired a local caterer who will be providing the food, drink, beer, etc. The Riverside Inn has barbeque grills in which she will grill for the event.

MUSIC: His wife will have a karaoke machine that will provide the microphones and amplifier.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Pete wanted Ranger Russ Bryant to take the pictures. His wife has already contacted Russ about the event. Russ has also volunteered to provide the Scotch? for a toast to Pete.

She also has plenty of camping gear if people want to camp at Indian Valley which is 12 miles west of Downieville, CA.

I've taken the liberty to post pictures of Downieville, for everyone to get a sense of what it looks like. My thoughts are that if we can get commitments by Mid May we might be able to probably negotiate a group discount and save some money for those who would like to attend.

Things to do in Downieville

The primary thing is we do not have a specific head count of those who will be attending so if each of you who do plan to attend could email me at: DBEADLE1@MSN.COM that would give us an idea of how much food will be needed and then we can double up on the normal amount of liquids that will be consumed that day and probable evening.

If you have any suggestions, please sound off here.
