In my tenure lurking and posting since 2004 SOTB was known to support, totally destroy, or give no fucks about others in some of the most intellectual ways I've ever read. SOTB was also always pushing himself which is evident by his consistent posts in the non-Crossfit forums and he never failed to impress. I never met Andy, but heard about him when I met others at Skeeter's funeral a few years ago.
Godspeed to Andy, his family, and his friends.

Now who am I going to fucking vote for for President?
The world in general and SOCNET in particular are less for his loss. He was one of the few people with whom I agreed with on a majority of things. I had the privilege of meeting Andy a couple times over the the past 10 years or so. When I first met him, his username was still SouthoftheBorder. I will never forget the last time I saw him in person, when he was busy telling one of West Virginia's Finest "I've got a gun too, motherfucker." As KidA noted, I should have suspected something was amiss when Andy friended me on ******** a few months back. I wish I believed we would meet again in Valhalla, but I don't believe that any more than he did. Regardless, Semper Fi, Marine. RIP.

I saw 0699's avatar in another thread and didn't want to believe it was true. SOTB was without a doubt one of the most well versed and insightful people I have ever had the privlige to read. His grasp on a wide range of subjects, and desire to learn about ones he wasn't fully up to speed on spoke volumes. Over the almost seven years I've been here, I learned several things by reading his posts. I also laughed my ass off.
RIP, Andy. Thank you for your service, and your contributions to SOCNET. My sincerest condolences to your family and friends who read this. A loss like this will take time to heal...but what a legacy he left. Quote:

RIP SOTB. It says something when the loss of somebody you never met can leave you filled with sadness. I greatly enjoyed reading his thoughts on the myriad of topics discussed and learned a lot from them. My condolences for his family and friends.

I had a question not too long ago about something and I knew Andy dealt with this particularly subject. I PM'd Andy (thats when learned his "name"...lol). He answered back quickly. Provided me the info I needed to help a relative to make an informed decision. He insisted I forward his personal contact info to my relative with instructions for either of us to call him if there were any problems.
Can't ask for much more. RIP Marine!!!

Opened up SOCNET today in Charlotte while waiting on a connecting flight. What a fucking shock. Those of you that knew him personally, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I'm going to miss the man.

I always looked forward to seeing SOTB in a forum, read his remarks first before anything else. I will dearly miss him. WTF.

Like quite a few of us in this thread, I never knew Andy outside of his posts here, but, it was pretty obvious that he managed to squeeze at least 10 lifetimes into his short time on earth.
RIP SOTB, your insight will be greatly missed.
