Ranger Poser - Michael Jeffery 'Rock' Harris (claims Panama and Somalia, 100% fake)

http://fayobserver.com/articles/2011...106001?sac=Mil

Harris, a sniper with the Rangers, came close to being one of the casualties of Mogadishu.

Anyone know this guy? As I read this article I feel the level of BS continuing to climb.

I don't know him and have never heard of him, but the article is comedy...the same article, printed in ENCToday.com, lists the following:

Breakout:

Jeff ‘Rock’ Harris’ military achievements:

Three Purple Hearts, Silver Star for Valor, two Bronze Stars for Valor, Soldier’s Medal, 23 Army Commendations, 31 Army Achievement Medals, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Battle Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, NCOPD, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Medal National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Distinguished Service Cross, Jumpmaster, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Sniper and Expert Weapons Qualification

Source: Harris’ DD214 Form

I read on the interweb that the Silver Star is for Gallantry, not Valor...and I like the DSC buried at the bottom...23 ARCOMs? 31 AAMs? Don't know if he is the real deal or not...If he is for real, Myke Hawke and he should partner up...

Out of my lane....but this is way fucking out there...:

"I have 316 confirmed kills as a sniper, and that's only in that last three years I was in the Army," Harris said. "Every one of those horrifies me regularly because they were somebody's children, somebody's husband or father."

I'm calling bullshit on that.......

And who is "the emperor of Saudi Arabia"....??

Very unlikely to be real.

Panama - all 3 BN's. Desert Storm - B Co, 1st BN. Somalia - B Co, 3rd BN.

23 ARCOM's and 31 AAM's - what????

316 confirmed kills as a sniper?????

To the best of my knowledge, there were no Ranger casualties in DS (he claims a Purple heart there).

If he actually said any of what's in that article, he's full of shit.

"I have 316 confirmed kills as a sniper, and that's only in that last three years I was in the Army," Harris said.

That reporter, considering his AO, should know better.

And who is this James Murphy guy that got carried a half a mile and then driven out in a burning vehicle?

Go look at the pictures on this link. Exhibit A for a Stolen Valor case.

I can't believe the Fayetteville Observer would fall for this...

There are guys on this board who know exactly who served on that mission. I expect that they will weigh in shortly.

Considering that this jackass permitted the EncToday.com site to publish photographs of his Purple Heart citations, they had better be real.

I just spoke to the young lady that wrote that article, gave her all of my particulars and encouraged her to register on SOCNET, check her sources and write a retraction. I also have the name of her Editor and I'll follow up tomorrow.

http://www.kinston.com/news/kinston-...alls-army.html

Jane Moon is at 252-559-1082 or jmoon@freedomenc.com

Any of you B Co or TFR guys feel free to ring or email her. I already took her through most of the glowing falsehoods. ('Emperor' of Saudi, 300 some odd sniper kills, wounded while hunting down Noriega, bullet still in his spine, etc)

She said she has a copy of his DD214. I told her how they can be faked. And those Purple Heart certs in that picture are fake as hell.

This piece of shit is claiming Jamie Smith's death as being his "story line"

"In a bloody scene in the middle of the movie, a young soldier’s leg is blown off, opening his femoral artery. In pain and bleeding heavily, the young man’s strained face relaxes and he dies.

“That would have been me,” Harris said. “I got shot, and cut my femoral artery, but we got out the next morning. I lived, but that wouldn’t have been as good of a story line.”

Documents change over time, BUT, I just looked at a PH cert someone left in my closet. It's a DA Form 4980-10-WT JAN 2000, and it is very different from the PH certs on the table in the picture on ENCToday...maybe if one of you has a PH cert someone left laying around your house from earlier conflicts you can tell if his is inconsistent with your cert...although I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here.

Anyone have a contact at the Charlotte FBI office?

I made the same observation. Saw one laying around and appears different.

It says he does EP work for a company call Down East Protection in Kingston.

This is off the yellow pages web:

2006 N Queen St Kinston, NC 28501
252-939-9500

Might be interesting to see if he got his job based on his 'experiences'.

The company appears to be a residential/commercial alarm installation business, not an EP sort of gig...

In that case, it would be a 'Top Secret' position and requires him to answer his shoe phone at odd hours of the night...
