WPS BIO

I'm a new member on the site and would greatly appreciate some information, I recently graduated ESI PSD course after serving as an 11B for a 4 years. I have applied to various companys within the last month mainly companys with WPS contracts, SOC had sent my BIO into the DoS roughly 4 weeks ago and I'm starting to go stir crazy waiting for a answer from SOC, in the mean time I have a oppertunity with Espada services however I'm not convinced that there a solid company. Any insight in regards to WPS BIOs and Espada would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you much

If I were you I'd post an intro as you were instructed to do in the email you received.

I'm sure this question has been answered before, the search function is your friend.

you need to post an intro in the appropriate thread before anyone will even acknowledge your existance, then use the "search" function as this topic has been covered on numerous occassions.

Do a search on that topic,it was coveed not to long ago, as far as waiting just 4 weeks, brother your going to have to be alot more patient. This buisness isn't for the impatient. My advice send out alot of resumes, get advice from the members on this forum (they are the best in the buisness with tons of expeience), keep an eye out fo new openings, and be patient and pro-active.

Thats just my .02 cents bro. Good luck, now back in my lane.

I can assure you that Espada is not a solid company and you are risking your safety by going with them. Ask me how I know.

DOS is slow right now, as they have a lot of programs putting bios in.

They would have to know where they are going first before you can determine a direction!!

I think some of that depends on the position. I got my BIO approval back in two weeks, that was a week ago...

My bio wasn't submitted to DoS until I had my DD214 in hand so they submitted it on the 11th of this month and I got approval notice on the 15th. Here I was thinking the last couple months that I was awaiting approval but then they told me a couple weeks ago that they were still waiting on my DD214.

I already had an active DOD TS clearance though so that always helps I am sure.

My WPPS II bio took 2 weeks to approve and my WPS III bio took one month.if you had already had a WPPS II certification ,as i did, the WPS III bios were taking on average 3-4 weeks for approval. The WPS III bios were scrutinized much harder by DoS before approval.

WPS

Ladies&Gents
A little BIO insight...

I have been supporting the WPS contract since 2004. I rolled from PSD to drinking the corporate cool-aid.

The WPS Bio is setup to dial in on only PSD (or whichever skill set applied for) experiences. This is a true case of more is not better. If the experience does not support the position you are applying for leave it out. As cool as all the door kickin', combat patrolling or direct action experiences sound, dial it into Personal Security Assignmets (or whichever skill you apply for i.e. Admin/Log/Service Support).

If you supply all requested DOCs (all DD214's -member copy 4-, relevant training certs, employment verification, SRBs) to your recruiter and or bio specialist; generally the bio can be turned around from the DSHTPOPS office within a couple of days.

If you read the required quals for the position and make sure your skills meet or beat the quals listed you blast thru the Bio guantlet with flying colors.

Just an FYI, it is WPS, not WPS III.

Over 2 months...

My stuff was done and turned in on May 27th. I still havnt heard a word. There are at least 8 others from my Non-Pss school that turned their stuff in the same day and also havnt heard a word. I dont know if we are the exception or the rule these days but I would settle in for a long a wait if I were you.

Have you contacted the perspective company and asked them? If it's who I think it is, I am not surprised. I was just in Baghdad the other day and I saw some K9 personnel from the NPSS class we were in. They apparently got picked up by SOC and almost all of them were offered a job and got deployed.

Its...

Its a long story but suffice to say its pretty darn frustrating. At this point the finger is pointed at DOS. It really doesnt matter to me anymore who is at fault for the delay; I am just ready for the delay to be done. I just want to get to work and focus on keeping the mission safe over there with my kick ass dog and not focus on staring at the phone hoping it will ring. I am doing my best to enjoy the time I have at home with the family but its hard when there is no light at the end of the tunnel as to when I can financially support them again. I do have to admit its pretty nice being woken up in the morning by my three year old saying she loves me rather than a mortar or siren hahaha. So I will soak that up until the call finally comes.
