CSM(R) George Miller
It is with sadness and shock to announce the passing of CSM (R) George Miller. George passed away today after a brain aneurism burst.
He will be missed by the community. He served with distinction, continued to serve after his retirement from active duty at the Special Warfare Center. He was my CSM, assisted with some career moves for me and became a friend since his retirement. Will miss having you come by the office to BS. George had a distinct voice that you would never forget to go along with a heart for Soldiering that impacted many. RIP George...DOL! |

George and I served together on the same ODA in the 70's; and again in DS/DS/PC. He was one helluva Soldier, and I'm proud to call him a friend and teammate.
RIP Groucho. I'll see you in Valhalla. DOL! |

George and I were team mates on ODA 114 in Bad Tölz. We later served together in Stuttgart.
My wife and his once helped him limp home from the Kellar at Panzer, snot slinging loaded. He fell, ripped open a knee, and with inestimable SF Medic skills, proceeded to self treat, borrowing a lighter from my spouse. Said he was gonna "cauterize" the wound... and promptly lit the jeans covering his knee on fire. My wife watched for a moment or two and then pointed out: "George...it's the other knee." ![]() I'll miss you buddy. RIP.
